Why cosmetic acupuncture?

When it comes to achieving a more youthful, smoother and blemish-free look to your face most people would automatically think of Botox as being pretty much the only solution. However some forms of acupuncture are now being used as they have been in China for centuries to achieve the same results without the need for the paralyzing chemicals or surgical procedure needed when using Botox.

How does it work?

By applying acupuncture needles to specific points on the face and hands we can trigger the formation of collagen under the skin giving it a plumper, more youthful appearance.

The healthy option

As with all aspects of acupuncture and Chinese medicine, the cosmetic application of acupuncture is the same in terms of its holistic nature; meaning that this form of acupuncture focuses on improvements to the entire face, not just specific areas of it. It also helps with circulation assisting with oxygenating the area, thus increasing the effect.

It also can help you feel better; this is due to the nature of acupuncture, which can work in conjunction with other treatments, and its focus on bringing balance back to your body.

Where it helps

Cosmetic acupuncture is the key to unlocking a youthful look to your face, helping to banish those fine lines and making the deeper lines less noticeable along with reducing the appearance of dark circles and puffiness around the eyes. It also works to manage the sagging of the skin and therefore the size of a double chin.

Other benefits include:

  • Relaxes muscle tone
  • Tightens pores
  • Brightens the eyes
  • Moisturizes the skin from inside

How many sessions?

This is very much dependent on a set of factors rather than a cut and dry list that everyone can adhere to. Much like everything else with acupuncture it all depends on you as a person and things such as your age, lifestyle choices and what you want to focus on and improve. For some, this will mean once or twice a week while others may achieve the same results with a monthly session.
